Refreshing, Nonfat Yogurt Ice Blended® Drink Available Just in Time for Summer


LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 13, 2008) – The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®, creators of The Original Ice Blended® beverage that revolutionized the frozen coffee drink trend, today announced its Yogurt Ice Blended® beverage. Starting this summer, this refreshing treat will be available in three flavors: Mango, Original and Strawberry.

The original, not too sweet Yogurt Ice Blended® beverage is creamy and tangy with a hint of citrus, while the strawberry version contains Vitamin C and a smooth, sweet-tart taste along with a kick of strawberry flavor. The mango version adds a tropical twist and creates the perfect blend of tropical sweet and sour.

“The Yogurt Ice Blended® beverage is an innovative twist on The Original Ice Blended®, a customer favorite since the late 1980s,” stated Mel Elias, president, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®. “The addition of the Yogurt Ice Blended® category of beverages to our menu continues our tradition of creatively incorporating new ingredients and flavors that adapt to current food and beverage trends.”

The Yogurt Ice Blended® beverage is made with nonfat yogurt containing four live cultures and boasts a significant percentage of calcium, offering between 25 to 50 percent of the total recommended daily allowance in each drink. The beverage also boasts between 9 to 18 grams of protein per serving. All three flavors of the Yogurt Ice Blended® beverage contain an average of 25 calories per ounce and zero grams of saturated fat and trans fat. The Yogurt Ice Blended® beverage is available in small, regular and large sizes.
