We work closely with the flavorists to design recipes that perfectly complement our coffees and enhance our menu. Each flavor is sampled by me personally, along with our experienced panel of tasters, and fine-tuned until it is just right.
Unlike most roasters in the industry, we add our flavors only to freshly ground coffee. Not only does ground coffee better absorb flavors than whole beans, but it retains the delicate aromatic and flavor components that could be lost when whole beans are submitted to the heat and friction generated by the grinder.
Our flavors are carefully measured and applied to freshly roasted and ground coffee by hand, and blended until the ground coffee is precisely and uniformly coated. After flavoring, the coffee is packed right away in a protective bag to shield the fragile product from the staling effects of oxygen and airborne moisture. Like roasted coffee, flavors are delicate; they’re susceptible to oxidation and loss of aroma and taste intensity if not properly stored.
