Like all of you, we continue to adapt to the changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19, implementing recommendations from CDC, state and local officials.  To ensure we do our part to help reduce disease transmission, all Team Members and Guests will be required to wear a face covering over their nose/mouths when visiting stores for pick-up/takeout, regardless of state or local ordinance.   

The health and safety of our Guests, Team Members and our community remains our top priority. We may need to make further changes in the days and weeks ahead, but we will continue to make every decision with the world in mind.

How is The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® brand responding to the coronavirus outbreak?

In accordance with recommendations from the FDA and CDC we are reinforcing the following steps to all Team Members to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses:

  • Wash hands with soap and water
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Work from home if possible
  • Stay home when sick

 

Are The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® stores closing or modifying operations?

We have temporarily closed select stores and moved to reduced hours of operation in others.  Please check www.coffeebean.com/store-locator for current store hours and operations.

 

Are The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® stores suspending Dine-In and For Here ware?

We have discontinued dine-in and for here seating until further notice. This includes all interior, exterior and standing countertop seating.  We have also temporarily suspended the use of personal cups and refills from the same cup. We will honor the personal cup discount and refill pricing but will provide all Guests with a new cup/lid/java jacket.

 

Is The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® brand supporting Team Members at temporarily closed locations?

We will continue to support our Team Members at temporarily closed locations as we evaluate all resources available to ensure their welfare. The health and safety of our Team Members and Guests remains our top priority.

 

What additional steps is The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® brand taking to minimize the spread of the virus?

All Team Members have been provided with a cloth face covering and will wear the protective face covering during work. Face Shields have been deployed to all locations and will be used anytime a Team Member leaves the back service area to perform tasks that may require them to be within 6 feet of a Guest.  Face Shields may also be worn at the Drive Thru and on the back line at Team Member discretion.

 

Stores have been provided with single-use disposable gloves for use at all stations behind the bar. The frequency of environmental cleaning in all stores has been increased to every 30 minutes.  Our teams are sanitizing all frequently touched surfaces such as tables, countertops, credit card machine, condiment bar, and doorknobs. This also extends to high touch surfaces in the back of house.

 

Sneeze Guards have been placed at the primary register in stores to create a direct barrier between the Guest and Team Member.  We will be deploying additional Sneeze Guards for both the drink pick-up area and drive thru window in the coming weeks.

 

We have also partnered with Cintas to provide all stores with Guest-facing hand sanitizer dispensers.  These touch-free dispensers will be rolled out in waves over the next 8 weeks.

 

What services are available to Guests who want to limit contact and still enjoy their favorite The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® beverage?

We offer the following options:

  • Order Ahead:  Order ahead using The Coffee Bean® Rewards app.
  • Mobile Payment:  Use The Coffee Bean® Rewards mobile wallet or other mobile payment option to limit the exchange of paper money and coins.
  • Delivery:  Choose to have your beverage delivered in The Coffee Bean® Rewards app or directly through our Postmates or DoorDash partners. Guests can select a non-contact delivery option during checkout.
