The Coffee Bean® is many things to many people — for some, it’s a local coffee and tea staple serving perfectly brewed boosts of energy to get them through the day. For others, it’s the perfect spot to finish a draft of a screenplay or conduct a group brainstorming session. For a select few, however, The Coffee Bean® is the place where sparks fly, stars cross, and true love blossoms.
We asked, and you certainly delivered. Here are our favorite love stories from The Coffee Bean®, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Terry & Danny

Terry and Danny first became acquainted while attending high school in our favorite locale — easy breezy SoCal. Danny, the gentleman he is, was the first person to introduce Terry to the magical wonders of The Coffee Bean®. In time they became close friends, but inevitably drifted apart when Terry left to attend college all the way in NorCal (trust us, it’s far!)
When Terry returned home from college three years later she randomly bumped into Danny at — you guessed it — The Coffee Bean®. They exchanged pleasantries and parted ways, only to run into each other a second time, at another location of The Coffee Bean®. After a third run-in at Danny’s go-to coffee and tea spot they reconnected in a big way, and the rest is history.
Terry and Danny have now been married for nearly four years. They have an adorable 2-year-old boy, with another one on the way and due in May!
Dustin & Paola
Dustin met Paola when the two were co-workers in 2007. What started as a simple workplace friendship evolved into some serious feelings for Dustin, who was taken by Paola’s confidence, intelligence, and that certain je ne sais quoi. There was an age gap and Paola had just ended a marriage, so Dustin kept everything professional.
One afternoon Dustin took a chance and asked Paola if she had any plans after work. Though she was attending a night class Paola suggested Dustin and her grab a quick bite beforehand. They walked down the street and both ordered vanilla lattes at The Coffee Bean®.
What was a simple bite evolved into something much more as they spent five hours opening their hearts to each other and talking about the big questions in life. They closed the place down, and as Dustin recalls, they found themselves at a massive fork in the road of their lives.
They decided to go all in, and now, 11 years later they live in a warm loving house on a quiet little street that they over decorate at Christmas every year, with three loving dogs and one “crazy” cat. When they need a little fuel they stop off at The Coffee Bean® for vanilla lattes, which they now call “his and hers lattes.”
Matt & Mary

Mary and Matt met in their early teenage years while working on projects at a community theater group. Mary describes their courtship in a succinct, factual way: they “were good friends for several years, dated, got engaged, and then got married.” Mary notes that coffee is her “personal love language,” and along the way to marriage, Matt brought her many a vanilla latte to brighten her day.
On their wedding day they couldn’t have enough of those matrimonial jitters — after the ceremony, they decided to stop by The Coffee Bean® for a quick pick me up. Matt actually carried Mary’s train in his arms as they ordered since her dress had not yet been bustled.
Fresh from their nuptials they enjoyed the very first of many memorable coffee breaks at their beloved coffee joint as a married couple. Now Matt and Mary are expecting a child — hopefully they will pass The Coffee Bean® tradition on to their bundle of joy.
Yadhi & HyunMin

Yadhi and HyunMin went on their very first date at The Coffee Bean® in Asunción, Paraguay. Ever since they first met up last September and things clicked over their favorite drinks they have integrated The Coffee Bean® into nearly every date!
According to Yadhi they typically meet up for dinner or lunch depending on their schedules and they always make their way to The Coffee Bean® in their neighborhood. Habitual clients, Yadhi says that she loves a latte paired with whatever cookies are available that day. As for HyunMin, she notes that he “loves the Ice Blended® drinks and he loves me,” smiling as she cracks the joke.
Now they have been a couple for many months and always make a habit of finding their way to The Coffee Bean® to drink their favorite coffee. You never know what will happen at The Coffee Bean® in your neighborhood — maybe you’ll meet the love of your life, or maybe you’ll just drink another scrumptious seasonal latte. No matter what dreams you chase this Valentine’s Day find a cup full of love right here at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®.
